In September 2004 I was looking for Atlantean and Rimor guilds for my chars, and also looking forward to make a directory of guilds with quality websites. I was looking for guilds with the following requirements:

The guild has a website.
The website is more than "just a forum" or "just a webpage that redirects to a forum" or similar fast-and-effortless web setup.
There's an easy to spot "contact me" e-mail or form to reach the webmaster, that doesn't require web users to register in the website or forum to post.
It's written in a language I can play in (english, spanish) or at least I can read, so I can make sure that the site is about AO indeed. Sorry, that excludes german, north european, and all the languages written in "funny chars". :P

Overall, this means to me "the following guilds have taken the time to develop a good web presence, so it's likely that they mean to stay around for a while, they care enough about their current community, about potential newcomers, and even about their website". Oh well, the conclusions may be inaccurate in some cases, but that's a start.
